This one splits in half just to show you two different legendary Pokémon. The actual story doesn't change enough to justify watching both versions, which means you're choosing a color and hoping the movie underneath is worth it. Victini itself is charming enough to carry the weight, but the formula is stretched thin by the premise's own gimmick. For completionists only. For everyone else, pick Reshiram and move on.
Long ago, the Kingdom of the Vale was torn apart when its ruler's two sons turned on each other and set their Legendary Pokémon loose. That clash upset the Dragon Force that powered the land. With the Mythical Pokémon Victini's help, peace returned and the Dragon Force was sealed by the Sword of the Vale. Now Damon, a descendant of the scattered People of the Vale, schemes to raise the Sword and seize that power to rebuild his people's kingdom. Satoshi and his friends reach Eindoak Town, at the foot of the Sword, and join Victini, the Vale's guardian, to stop the plan before the old catastrophe repeats. The film is an action-adventure fantasy with comedy, released alongside a companion movie. Both tell the same story until Satoshi and Pikachu meet Victini, and this version features Reshiram as its legendary Pokémon.
