A Legendary Pokémon everyone assumes is the villain turns out to be the only thing standing between a town and annihilation. The real enemy is two gods tearing reality apart above your head, and Darkrai is trying to save you while you're accusing it of genocide. Dialga and Palkia don't fight for story reasons, they fight because time and space are literally colliding, and the movie's score swells to match the scale of what's actually at stake. By the time you realize Darkrai was protecting Alice the whole time, the town is already gone. It's a Pokémon movie that understands the difference between a villain and a victim wearing the wrong face.

Ash arrives in Alamos Town for a pleasant visit with Alice, only to find the town's prized garden reduced to ruins. When the charming but self-absorbed Baron Alberto points fingers at Darkrai, the mysterious Pokémon emerges to confront them directly. Is Darkrai truly the villain everyone assumes, or is something far more complicated happening beneath the surface? The situation spirals out of control as two Legendary Pokémon, Dialga and Palkia, clash directly above the town in a battle that threatens to unravel the very fabric of space and time itself. With the town collapsing around them and reality literally fracturing, Ash must figure out what Darkrai actually wants before it's too late. The film balances action-heavy sequences with genuine mystery, keeping you guessing about Darkrai's true motives while the fate of everyone in town hangs in the balance. It's a solid entry that asks whether legend and rumors tell the whole story, or if there's always more to discover about the creatures we think we know.
