Puniru disappears mid-training, and the show doesn't waste time pretending the mystery matters, what actually matters is watching Kotarou realize he's completely lost without her, even when she shows up again in increasingly ridiculous forms. The comedy landed harder this season because the jokes stop trying and just exist the way these two exist together, which is to say messily, stupidly, and with real weight underneath. This is a show about two people figuring out that love isn't about being cute or perfect or understanding what you're supposed to feel; it's about showing up, even when you arrive as a leaky package.

Puniru, the slime girl who has been friends with middle schooler Kotarou for years, disappears partway through her training to become even cuter. Meanwhile Kotarou keeps struggling to cope with her shape-shifting charms and with his own feelings. Later, a surprising package shows up for him, and it is leaking. This second season mixes comedy, fantasy, romance and slice of life, with plenty of slime girl antics alongside awkward affection.
