Anime Like Reiwa no Di Gi Charat
Dejiko's still here, still doing the exact same bit, and somehow it still lands because the show knows nobody's watching this for plot. The gag is that nothing has changed in 24 years except the girls got older and the corporate mascots showed up to be weird about it. If you watched Di Gi Charat when it first dropped, this hits like a friend texting you out of nowhere with the same dumb joke you both made in 2000.
SYNOPSIS
Dejiko and Puchiko are back on Earth, and nothing's quite the same as before. Hikaru has grown up into a high school student, but the alien duo remains wonderfully unchanged, causing chaos wherever they go. The Black Gema-Gema Gang still schemes with theatrical villainy, convinced they're destined for dark glory despite their repeated failures. Things get weirder when Brocco-desu and Bushirodo-no-Mikoto crash the party, divine mascots representing rival companies who bring their own brand of absurdity to an already ridiculous situation. This is pure comedic nonsense built on nostalgia and corporate humor. The show doesn't pretend to have a deeper purpose: it exists to make you laugh at these characters doing silly things, whether that's Dejiko's cat-eared antics, the gang's pathetic schemes, or the new goddesses stirring up trouble. If you grew up with Di Gi Charat or just want something lighthearted that doesn't take itself seriously, this celebration of 24 years feels like hanging out with old friends who never quite grow up.
