The five armor-wearing heroes stumble through their mission with the dumb sincerity of people who have no idea what they're doing, and the show loves them for it. Talpa's generals are goofy enough that you want them to lose, but likable enough that their defeats sting a little. This is what 80s anime felt like when it didn't have to make sense: five goofballs saving the world one rambling adventure at a time.

An ancient evil stirs. Thousands of years ago, the wicked emperor Talpa tried to conquer the Earth, but he was defeated and banished to the Nether Realm, and his armor was split into nine separate suits. Now he has returned to try again, with four of those suits back in his hands. The remaining five belong to the Ronin Warriors, the only ones who can stop him. The series is a science fiction adventure spanning 39 episodes.
