The weight of the original hangs over everything, and this show knows it can't match that. Kouga doesn't get Seiya's narrative foundation, he has to earn his own, from zero, against a war god nobody asked him to fight. That cost of legacy, paid by someone who never signed up for it, is what actually hits.

Mars, the god of war, is close to reviving. Seiya sealed him away once, but much time has passed and his return is now near. Athena raises Kouga, a boy whose life Seiya once saved, and he trains every day to become a Saint so he is ready for the coming crisis. Saints are warriors who wield arms called a Cross and fight to protect the goddess. Kouga does not know the destiny waiting for him. Everything changes when the power of Cosmo hidden inside him awakens, and the story of a new Saint begins as Mars prepares to return. The show is an action, adventure and fantasy series.
