This is the origin story Sakura Wars 3 players kept begging for, and it spends its three episodes on the part that actually matters: five strangers who have no business being in the same room. Erica Fontaine wrecks a convent by simply existing, Glycine Bleumer carries her noble name like armor, Lobelia Carlini would rather pick a lock than take an order, Coquelicot works a crowd because that's all she's ever known, and Hanabi Kitaoka arrives from Japan carrying a grief she won't put down. Grand Mere assembles them under the Chattes Noires anyway, because the darkness under Paris does not wait for a squad to like each other. The Koubu launches are short and the steam is thick, which is the point. The mecha is the excuse. The real fight is getting Erica to stop apologizing and Hanabi to stop looking backward.

A hidden evil is stirring in the streets of Paris, and if no one stops it, the darkness will destroy everything good and the city will be lost to its people. The only hope lies with five young women who have no idea yet what role they are meant to play.
