Kenshin finally faces someone whose pain is just as real as his own, someone who watched the same revolution eat the same people he did. The movie doesn't reinvent the wheel, it's a full-throttle character study dressed in sword fights, asking whether redemption means anything if the people you destroyed stay destroyed. By the end, you understand why this specific fight matters more than any other he'll ever have.

Years after the war against the Tokugawa Shogunate came to an end, not everyone has accepted how it turned out. Shigure Takimi saw his friends and family killed in the name of freedom and prosperity, and he has joined a band of desperate rebels sworn to settle one last score. The one man blocking their path is Kenshin Himura. Once Shigure learns that Kenshin is really the Hitokiri Battousai, his fight turns into a personal vendetta. The film is a feature-length action drama.
