Sekiei draws what he sees because what he sees is real, and no one believes him until they're standing in front of the proof. The Edo period becomes a place where a madman's sketchbook is the only honest document of what's actually walking through Japan. Set in the middle of Japan's Edo period, the story centers on Sekiei, an eccentric yet gifted artist who draws nothing but supernatural creatures. His subject matter has a simple explanation: every being he puts on paper is one he has actually met in his own life. The short fantasy ONA runs three episodes and adapts a manga by Kawai Takanori that was serialized in Weekly Young Jump.
