This is a one-off that exists to let Sanada Yukimasa have his moment against impossible odds. The Siege of Ueda Castle is not a story about winning, it's about a commander so tactically sharp he makes a numerically superior force look stupid while knowing he'll lose anyway. That tension between brilliance and inevitability is the whole point, and a special built around it lives or dies on whether you buy Sanada as the kind of leader worth watching scramble. The action exists to prove his mind works faster than anyone else's sword.

Two young brothers, Nobuyuki and Yukimura, vow to one another that they will protect the powerful Sanada clan. Yukimura, weighing how the clan can best endure, makes a choice of his own, and where it leads him he meets Ishida Mitsunari and Naoe Kanetsugu. Meanwhile, Nobuyuki, the elder of the two, has to deal with the self-serving demands of the Tokugawa clan. The one-episode action special is reported to cover the Siege of Ueda Castle.
