A teacher bribes eight kids with extra credit to help with an experiment. The experiment goes catastrophically wrong. Now those kids pilot giant robots to fight the fallout, and the show treats this escalation like it's the most natural thing in the world. The comedy lives in how seriously it commits to absurdity, nobody stops to ask if this is insane, they just strap in and deal with what comes next. Eight boys at International Academy, a school near the headquarters of the research group Project BB, are lured into their teacher Toukichi Hashiba's experiment by the promise of class credit. Years earlier a huge meteorite struck Earth, and Hashiba believes it reacts to strong human thoughts. He has the boys enter its eight empty chambers and picture a great giant robot. Then a spaceship appears overhead, and an alien named Wercury, from the Star of Prokimasi, demands the meteorite and threatens war if Earth refuses. The meteorite answers the group's thoughts and turns into a giant robot, which Hashiba names Gakusaver. When a Prokimasi robot attacks, the boys must fight back, but getting eight wills to act as one proves extremely difficult. The result is a comedic sci-fi mecha action OVA.
