The ten players who didn't make the cut take competition day and turn it into something harder than performing: staying invested in someone else's shot while your own is gone. The show refuses to treat the bench as invisible. It builds a full emotional world around the people making good-luck charms instead of playing notes, and the OST mirrors that, every moment of quiet support gets a composition that says it matters just as much as the solo.

Ten members of the Kitauji High School concert band didn't make the cut for the Kyoto competition, but they refuse to sit on the sidelines. Instead, they band together as Team Monaka, determined to support their performing classmates in every way possible. While the selected musicians prepare, this devoted crew works behind the scenes, hauling supplies, making monaka-shaped good-luck charms for their clubmates and continuing to polish their own playing. Then, on competition day, shocking news reaches them while they are heading to the concert hall. This OVA is a music-centered slice-of-life drama about the band members who support the ensemble from outside the spotlight during one summer.
