The four episodes exist only to let you spend more time with characters you already love, which is exactly what a Steel Angel fan wants after the main series ends. Each OVA isolates a different angel in a scenario built entirely around her personality: Saki's Hollywood dreams play on her ambition, Karinka's blind date is pure awkward charm, Kurumi learning traditional domesticity is the show understanding what makes her funny. This is fan service that knows its job is not to revolutionize anything, just to remind you why you cared about these girls in the first place.

Four more short episodes follow the Steel Angels on a string of separate adventures. Saki lands work as a movie actress, while Karinka goes out on a blind date with Kamihito. Kurumi sets out to learn how to become a traditional Japanese woman. The remaining Steel Angels, meanwhile, enter a contest to win over Nakahito. The OVA mixes comedy and romance with a sci-fi setup.
