Wang Ling, an immortal king with a fondness for dry noodles, lives with a novelist father and a mysterious mother. Their ordinary household is thrown into disarray when a little sister, Wang Nuan, arrives with enormous power of her own, which oddly fails to startle the family. Wang Ling sets out early to teach her how to keep those abilities in check while working out how to be a good older brother. Her strength soon draws the notice of Ye Kui, a sinister organization, and of Bai Zhe, a high-ranking inmate of Enchanted Prison. Facing these evil cultivators, Wang Ling breaks with tradition and brings his sister along to put the villains in their place. The fifth season blends action, comedy and fantasy.
