Long-established talent agency 346 Production launches a new program, the Cinderella Project, which picks ordinary girls and gives them a chance to become idols. Uzuki Shimamura is a student who dreams of idol stardom, and after she fails her first audition, a producer from the agency tells her she has been selected for the new group. The project still needs two more members, so the imposing producer goes scouting. He notices Rin Shibuya caught up in a dispute with an angry crowd, steps in to defend her, and ends up questioned by the police alongside her until they explain themselves. He then invites Rin to join, only for her to turn him down. The music-centered slice-of-life comedy follows his search to fill out the group.
