Kotono Nagase, a high school student, passes an audition at Hoshimi Productions and moves into a shared dorm with her best friend and eight other aspiring idols. She is the younger sister of Mana Nagase, the most outstanding idol ever rated by VENUS, a scoring system that ranks performers using AI and data, and she hopes to carry on her sister's legacy. Another recruit, Sakura Kawasaki, has a voice strikingly close to Mana's. The new group's manager, Kouhei Makino, once managed Mana before a tragic accident cut her career short. Together the ten girls learn how to work as a team and how much effort the climb demands as they compete in an unforgiving idol industry, in a musical drama with supernatural elements.
