The aftermath of "I've Always Liked You" isn't a victory lap. This film picks up where Natsuki's confession left her, and watches what happens when the hardest part, saying the words, turns out to be the easiest part of actually being in love. HoneyWorks knows the real sabotage happens after you stop pretending.
Hina's first meeting with Koyuki Ayase, an older student at her middle school, is a disaster. His warm smile captures her heart all the same, and after some confusion she understands that this is her first love. She studies hard so she can follow him to his high school, and she enters Sakuragaoka High together with Kotarou, a friend since childhood. Kotarou has feelings for Hina that he has not noticed himself, and what he wants is to keep her smiling. During summer break, Koyuki gets a makeover on account of an unrequited love, and all at once he is popular with the female students. Hina makes up her mind to confess at that point. Hina and Kotarou are the younger siblings of Yuu Setoguchi and Natsuki Enomoto, and the film comes after the confessions Natsuki rehearsed with Yuu. Now the younger pair struggle to voice their own love, and young love that builds new bonds puts other bonds at risk.
