Shun Hashimoto is an aspiring novelist who is openly gay, and his parents cut him off after he came out to them. Isolated and uncertain, he finds unexpected connection with Mio Chibana, a reserved, orphaned high school student he meets on a beach off the coast of Okinawa. Their chemistry feels immediate and unforced, and they grow closer day by day. Then Mio suddenly leaves for the mainland. Three years later, Mio returns with a confession: he likes Shun. Shun's life has changed in the time they were apart, and faced with the chance to finally become lovers, he struggles to take the first step toward commitment. The film is a quiet drama and romance, adapted from Kii Kanna's manga, about longing, reunion and whether feelings survive years apart.
