In the near future, disasters that defy human understanding and increasingly complex crimes and accidents push the government to form Hyper Rescue, a mobile emergency police force built mainly to save lives. Its main tools are Drive Heads, special vehicles that convert from cars into humanoid walkers and combine police, firefighting and rescue abilities. Gou Kurumada, a grade schooler, is one of several children judged suitable to drive them. Together with the adult officers of the emergency police, these young drivers rush to crisis scenes to keep people safe and protect the peace. The show is a mecha series spun off from Takara Tomy's Tomica line of toy cars.
