A kid with nothing but desperation walks into the territory of a legendary hunter who actually shows up. The fight that follows is pure shonen excess done right, every punch and grab scaled to feel genuinely dangerous. Toriko doesn't philosophize or hesitate. The movie knows exactly what it is and burns through thirty minutes of action without apology, which makes it work as both an entry point and a hit of everything fans came back for.

Set before the events of the Toriko TV series, this action comedy film centers on Peck, a young boy whose village is being attacked by a Gerold, a giant beast that keeps plaguing the villagers. Unable to deal with the creature on their own, Peck turns to the Gourmet Hunter Toriko and asks him to help drive the monster away from his home. The movie was shown in 3D as a double feature alongside a One Piece 3D film.
