This is the twenty minutes where the staff stopped pretending there was a plot and just spent the entire budget on the Trinity Seven themselves. The setup is paper thin on purpose: Arata is about to get expelled, and the only fix is private tutoring in the magic archives from seven girls who each teach very differently. Fans clocked it immediately, the linework and character presentation here outclass the TV series it came from, which is a funny thing to say about an episode packed into the limited edition of manga volume 11. Arata stays gloriously unrepentant, Lilith stays one comment away from an aneurysm, and the comedy lands because nobody involved is embarrassed about what they're making. Do not come here for story substance, there isn't any, and the OVA knows it. Come for the version of these characters the original series never had the money to draw.
