Twin Angels BREAK sells you on friendship comedy and then sucker-punches you with actual stakes. The absurdity never stops, Meguru and Sumire's dynamic is funny because they're genuinely incompatible, but the show doesn't treat their bond as a joke once things get real. It's a magical girl parody that somehow earned every emotional beat it lands, proving the genre's formula works best when you're willing to break it and put it back together with two girls who would never choose this life.

When the original Twin Angels go missing, a mysterious hedgehog named Miruku-chan asks two third-year middle schoolers to step in as the new team. Meguru Amatsuki is cheerful and sometimes a little too pushy, and she sincerely dreams of being a hero of justice. Sumire Kisaragi is cool and introverted, raised in the strict Kisaragi household and unused to being around other people. As Twin Angels, the pair must stop the villainous Mary from bringing back the demon lord Zelucifer. Different as they are, working side by side gradually helps them open up to one another in this comedic magical girl series.
