Duke Fleed, a survivor from the planet Fleed, escapes to Earth aboard a mysterious spaceship. There he is raised by Dr. Umon as an adopted son and goes by the name Daisuke Umon. Years after he lands, King Vega and his army set out to conquer Earth. Duke chooses to fight back with the mighty robot Grendizer, joined by his friends Koji and Hikaru and, later, by his younger sister Maria Grace. The show is a mecha series built around giant robot battles.
