The animation moves like someone threw out the rulebook and decided to paint the show instead of animate it. Every frame is deliberately weird, deliberately colorful, deliberately alive in ways that make standard TV anime look frozen. Three girls protecting Harajuku culture against aliens sounds ridiculous until you realize the show is actually about what happens when the world tries to standardize your weirdness out of you. The pacing stumbles and the story doesn't always know what it's doing. Watch it anyway, because this is what happens when animators are allowed to be artists.

Three high school girls, Rito, Kotoko and Mari, run PARK, a small limited-time apparel shop in Harajuku where they combine their different talents in the hope that the whole world will love what they make. Their business is threatened when aliens called Scoopers land on Earth. The Scoopers have no creativity of their own and roam the universe taking the inventions of other civilizations, and Harajuku is their next target. A girl named Misa appears, says she escaped from the aliens, and hands each of the three a device that can create anything its user imagines. Armed with their imaginations, the girls fight to protect their beloved district. The series mixes magical girl action with comedy, sci-fi and psychological elements.
