Pikachu and Snivy on a quest for throat medicine is the kind of low-stakes, purposeful adventure that doesn't need apocalypse or betrayal to matter. Nobody dies, nobody screams, nobody learns a hard lesson about sacrifice. It's just creatures who care about their friend doing something small and real to help her, and that's enough. Watch this if you need proof that anime doesn't have to break you to be worth your time.

Meloetta is having trouble with her throat, so Pikachu and Snivy set out to find Rinka Berries that can cure it. While they search, Meowth and Wobbuffet go chasing after Meloetta. A lighthearted fantasy comedy, this single-episode OVA is the 23rd Pikachu short, and it came bundled with the August 2012 issue of Ciao, the shoujo magazine published by Shogakukan.
