By season four, the show has learned what it actually is: a story about wishes that keep costing more than you expected, even when nothing explodes. Kaede's still chasing something, love, certainty, control, and Mirumo's still there making it worse by making it real. The magic stopped being about grand gestures seasons ago. Now it's about a girl and a fairy who've become each other's actual consequence, the thing you get stuck with after you stop wishing and start living.

Charming, a 2005 TV run of 22 episodes, is the fourth installment in the Wagamama☆Fairy Mirumo de Pon! franchise. The franchise centers on Kaede, an upbeat but shy eighth grader who summons Mirumo, a little blue love fairy, from a cocoa mug in hopes of dating her classmate Yuuki. She soon learns he cares more about eating chocolate. In an earlier season the pair hunted for seven crystals said to grant any wish. The season mixes adventure, comedy, drama, fantasy, romance and magical girl elements.
