It hooks you the way a five-minute ad for a card game absolutely should not: by being funnier than the shows it's parodying. Takeshi gets yanked out of a study session into the Weiss Schwarz Battle Space, gets crowned chosen warrior by a hyperactive old man, and then has to admit the one thing no card-game protagonist ever admits, which is that he has no idea how the game works. Michi, the most beautiful girl in school and, conveniently, the one person who actually knows the rules, becomes his tutor, and the tutorials are where the ecchi gags live. Sixteen episodes, all short, zero heavy themes, no attempt to convince you the cards matter. That's the joke and it commits. You came for a rules explainer and stayed because Takeshi is a genuinely terrible chosen one.

Takeshi's ordinary life takes a surreal turn when an innocent study session with Michi, the school's most beautiful girl, ends with the two of them pulled into the Weiss Schwarz Battle Space. There, an eccentric but eager old man declares Takeshi the chosen warrior, who must win a string of card battles to get back home. The catch: Takeshi has no idea how to play. His lifeline is Michi, an expert who is ready to teach him this strange, slapstick card game. What follows is a crash course in competition, and Takeshi may find that surviving the training is the hardest part. The comedy short is based on Bushiroad's Weiß Schwarz card game and carries a dose of ecchi humor.
