A kid holds something small and sweet and keeps it to himself, and that's the whole movie. Winter Star doesn't need conflict or plot or anything louder than classroom heat and the taste of fruit on your tongue. It trusts you to find meaning in the quiet, in what someone chooses not to share, in the weight of a single private moment.

Winter has arrived, yet the narrator's heart runs warm, and so does the classroom around them. By chance, a star fruit comes into their possession, and they keep the secret of how it tasted entirely to themselves. This short romance and slice-of-life film was made as a 2022 graduate work in the Department of Animation at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts.
