A girl who has spent her entire life feeling wrong in her own skin finds out she was right all along, she really is different, and the world she belongs to has been waiting for her. Yohane doesn't mock her delusions; it validates them with genuine magic and a genuine place where she fits. The show understands that sometimes the thing keeping you alive is the thing everyone else calls broken.

Yohane has always been different. Since childhood she has felt out of place in Numazu, a scenic harbor town ringed by mountains and sea. She left for the big city dreaming of stardom, but two years on she still has not passed a single audition. Short on money, she accepts her mother's invitation to come home and find something only she can do. Back in Numazu she reunites with her dog Lailaps, opens a fortune-telling shop, reconnects with old friends and makes new ones. Meanwhile a mysterious power is upsetting the town's nature and wildlife, and Yohane spends her summer searching for the magic that might save Numazu. The series is a musical fantasy with slice-of-life warmth that reimagines the school idol Yoshiko Tsushima.
