A kid chasing possessed monkeys across time and space with nothing but a stun club sounds stupid until you realize the show means it completely. Every episode escalates the absurdity without breaking the logic of its own world, turning what should be a forgettable premise into something genuinely charming. Kakeru's desperate optimism against an increasingly impossible task carries the weight of a show that knows exactly how ridiculous it is, and refuses to apologize for it.

Specter is an evil monkey who breaks out of a circus with the help of a mind-control device. The gadget makes him smarter and gives him command over the other monkeys in the area. A professor calls on Kakeru to round up every one of these monkeys, with Specter himself as the most important catch. The short episodes mix adventure and comedy with touches of fantasy and romance.
