This show treats giant robots like a punchline and a spectacle at the exact same time, never choosing between them. The animation is so relentlessly polished that absurd comedy beats land harder than they have any right to, and the bond between Isami and Lewis rewires what you expect from a mecha partnership. It knows it's ridiculous. It leans into that ridiculousness with the confidence of a show that has earned the right to go completely unhinged, and it's infectious.

In a future where wars are fought with giant humanoid armored weapons called Titatonostriders, or TS, soldiers from several countries gather on Oahu, Hawaii. Ao Isami, a member of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force, and Lewis Smith, a U.S. Marine, cross paths in the middle of a battle. An unknown enemy then strikes, scattering their troops and throwing their forces into chaos. To rescue their friends and stay alive, the two become unlikely comrades who must summon all their courage and pride. The show is a mecha action comedy with a science fiction setting.
