Two hunters walk into a restaurant in the woods and the rules of the world flip without a single line of dialogue. The animation moves like oil paint in motion, every frame a landscape that knows exactly how to unsettle you, and the score does the talking your eyes already believe. By the time you understand what's actually being served, you've stopped thinking about plot and started thinking about mortality the way Miyazawa intended: as something beautiful and terrible happening at the same time.

Two young British hunters, lost in a forest and separated from their dogs, come upon a mysterious restaurant standing in the middle of the woods. The strange find hints that the hunters may be about to learn what it is like to become the prey. The short film adapts a story by the Japanese writer Kenji Miyazawa and blends fantasy, horror and the supernatural.
