Shin-chan movies exist to prove the TV series had more gas in the tank all along, this one cranks the animation to levels the weekly show never touches while keeping the comedy loose enough that you're laughing at visual gags as much as the writing. The theme park setting gives the animators permission to go wild with backgrounds and character movement, turning what could've been a one-off premise into something that rewards a second watch because you missed half the jokes in the crowd scenes the first time. If you've already survived the Nohara family's chaos on TV, this is the version where the show finally stopped holding back.

The Nohara family's adventure unfolds at Gunma Hender Land, the biggest theme park in the region north of Tokyo. Two men from another world, the so-called witches Makao and Joma, are trying to invade the real world. The Noharas team up with Toppema Muppet, a talking doll from a magical realm, to fight them. The film blends a horror-flavored fantasy setup with silly comedy and adventure.
