Rinku Aimoto returns to Japan after living abroad and enrolls at Yoba Academy, a school where DJ units made up of DJs, vocalists and dancers are hugely popular. There she meets Maho Akashi, a would-be DJ who shows her the basics. Moved by a live DJ show, Rinku decides to start a unit of her own. She and Maho bring in Muni Ohnaruto, a gifted artist and Rinku's childhood friend, and Rei Togetsu, a shy, kind pianist. Calling themselves Happy Around, the four cross paths with other units such as Peaky P-key and Photon Maiden as they work toward becoming one of the country's top DJ groups. The result is a music-focused slice-of-life story about new friendships and shared ambition.
