Hanako doesn't become an idol. She becomes the person who believes in them so hard that it rewrites what the group can be. The music is actually good, varied enough that you stop skipping the insert songs by episode three. Twelve episodes of watching eleven nobodies convince each other they're worth something, one perfectly timed chorus at a time.

Hanako Yamadaki crosses paths with Ongaku Shoujo, an obscure eleven-member idol group under Pine Records that sells almost no CDs and is constantly in debt. Despite their third-rate standing, the members and their producer, Ikebashi, keep giving it their all. Ikebashi decides the unit needs a new member who can spark their success, so an audition is held, and it brings them to Hanako. Together they aim for the top of the music world in this music-focused slice-of-life series.
