Two women who despise each other get assigned as partners, and by the time this OVA ends, you understand why they're unstoppable together. The animation is sharp enough to make the chaos feel real, the mission structure gives each episode room to breathe instead of chasing constant spectacle, and the jokes land because Kei and Yuri's banter is built on actual friction, not chemistry you're supposed to assume. First four episodes are setup, but episode five onwards the show stops holding back and you see what it actually is: a buddy story where the partnership is earned, not given.
Kei and Yuri start out as junior auxiliary agents at the Worlds Works and Welfare Agency, and they are teamed up under the codename Lovely Angels. Kei has just come off her fourth probation, Yuri is known for her romantic escapades, and the two dislike each other from the moment they meet. At first they refuse to be partners, and Kei even quits the agency. They end up working together anyway, though their cases leave so much unintended wreckage behind them that they earn a second nickname, the Dirty Pair. Even after they learn to get along, they never stop squabbling and griping at each other. This six-episode OVA is an alternate universe take on Dirty Pair, set in 2248 and 2249, and it mixes sci-fi action and adventure with comedy and ecchi humor.
