Jashin-chan has perfected the art of the gag that makes you groan before it lands. Three seasons in and the show still finds angles on the same premise, a useless demon getting physically abused by her host, that feel genuinely unexpected, mostly because it commits harder to the bit than any rational show should. The new characters don't fix what doesn't need fixing; they just give the violence more targets, and that's exactly the point.

Jashin-chan returns for a third season of slapstick supernatural comedy adapted from Yukiwo's manga. The half-human, half-snake demon was pulled out of Hell by the witch Yurine Hanazono, and she cannot go back as long as Yurine is alive. Her plots against her summoner keep ending with Yurine beating her badly. This time she remembers the day she was called to Earth, writes Yurine's name in her "Death NOT" and vows that her dropkick will finally connect. She is also hopeless with money and loses it at pachinko, which leaves her deep in debt to Hell Financing and sends her running to Hokkaido to hide. Meanwhile Pino, who once served under Pekola and Poporon, turns up. Pekola is thrilled, sure that God has sent someone to take her home, but Pino arrives carrying a weapon.
