Katta's not trying to be Shobu, and the show knows that matters more than winning. He's building something from scratch with friends who actually challenge him instead of just cheering, learning that a champion's path only works if it's yours to walk. The Hunter versus Alien war isn't window dressing, it's the cost of taking duel mastery seriously, and Katta pays it every time he steps into the ring.

Katta Kirifuda, younger brother of the famous duelist Shobu, dreams of becoming a dueling champion like his brother, but he wants to get there on his own terms. The seventh season of the Duel Masters anime begins his dueling adventures alongside his friends Bucchake, Yohdel and Benchan. Along the way Katta comes to see Dragon Ryu, a fierce duelist, as his rival. The season also tells the story of the battle between two races, the Hunters and the Aliens. Its storyline follows the Duel Masters: Star Cross manga rather than Cross Shock, and it mixes card battle action with comedy, adventure and fantasy.
