A decade of scattered friendships finally collects its debts. The final season doesn't reinvent Fairy Tail, it knows exactly what it is, and it spends fifty episodes making sure every character gets their moment to say goodbye. The animation drops hard in places, but the emotional payoff for anyone who watched these people grow hits exactly where it's supposed to: watching the guild rebuild itself, one recovered friend at a time.

A year has passed since Fairy Tail disbanded, scattering its members across Fiore. Lucy has been working as a reporter when Natsu and Happy suddenly reappear in her life. Together the three set out to track down their former guildmates and rebuild the guild, while trying to learn why Master Makarov ended it without warning. Their journey soon runs into a far larger threat: the vast army of the Alvarez Empire invading Fiore, led by a ruler they already know. Balancing action, adventure, comedy and fantasy, the final season brings the guild's story to its close.
