The world stands at the edge of extinction as a relentless invading force ravages civilization. Hayato Jin, a veteran pilot from the original Getter Robo, has completed Getter Arc, a new combat machine built on the final and greatest work of Professor Saotome. Three pilots climb aboard: Takuma, son of Hayato's former copilot Ryouma; Kamui, who is half human and half Saurian; and Baku, younger brother of the powerful esper Tahir. Set in a post-apocalyptic Earth several years after Getter Robo Go, the story has them fighting alongside the reformed Dinosaur Empire against the insectoid Andromeda Flow Country, which strikes from across time and space. The result is an action-driven sci-fi mecha series about giant robots battling to restore hope to a devastated planet.
