Diablo's social incompetence is the joke that never dies because he keeps accidentally becoming a hero while trying to avoid talking to people. The show knows exactly what it is: a comedy where the Demon Lord's greatest power is his ability to misread every situation and still come out looking untouchable. Real fans come back for the romance threads that actually deepen between seasons, watching Rem and Shera's feelings sharpen while Diablo remains completely oblivious to his own.

Diablo, the Demon Lord from another world, is back in Cross Reverie and still working hard to hide how poor his social skills are. While traveling with Rem and Shera, he rescues the high priest Lumachina, who is fleeing assassins sent by her own church. Lumachina believes Diablo is God, and he chooses to protect her as she searches for the head paladin Batutta. The party, later joined by the grasswalker Horn and the Magmatic Maid Rose, is pulled into a conspiracy led by the church's Cardinal. Comedy, ecchi and fantasy adventure mix across ten episodes as Diablo tries to play the part of a deity.
