Hozuki runs Hell like a middle manager who's smarter than his boss and infinitely more tired, solving bureaucratic nightmares with deadpan genius. Every torture device is an elaborate joke that lands twice, once for the absurdity and once because you recognize the petty human behavior it's punishing. A comedy that understands Hell is just work, and work is just Hell.

In this second season of Hoozuki no Reitetsu, Hozuki serves as the right-hand aide to the Great King Enma. As the most capable demon in the underworld, he is the one expected to sort out Hell's many problems, from bureaucratic headaches to a rampaging Momotaro and his companions, while also dreaming up new tortures that are as funny as they are painful. Calm, collected and thoroughly sadistic, he could badly use a vacation. In his spare time he indulges gentler hobbies, doting on cute animals and growing Goldfish Flowers. The result is a supernatural fantasy comedy built on his unshakable composure in the afterlife.
