Uehara is a high school manga artist obsessed with crafting the perfect romantic heroine, but when an editor at his dream publisher trashes his work as unrealistic, he spirals. His salvation comes from an unexpected direction: Niina, a bubbly classmate and fellow aspiring manga artist who has been getting similar criticism. She proposes something radical. If neither of them has real romantic experience, why not fake date each other? Their stories need authenticity, and what better research than living it themselves. The trouble is that Niina is nothing like the bashful, innocent heroine Uehara dreamed up, and he is far from the cocky hero of her own manga.
