The petit shorts do what the main show can't: they let these characters breathe in moments that don't need to earn anything. You already know Kazuya's neurosis and Chizuru's control, so the shorts just spin that chemistry sideways, finding comedy in the spaces between plot. These are palette cleansers that somehow matter more than they should, because they remember that the best part of this franchise was always just watching them interact without the rental girlfriend premise getting in the way.

Kanojo, Okarishimasu 3rd Season Petit is a 2023 ONA of twelve short comedy episodes. As a mini anime tied to the third season of Kanojo, Okarishimasu, it carries on the petit shorts made for the second season, which had themselves continued the shorts from the first. The earlier petit shorts were shared through the official Twitter account before being collected on the Blu-ray release of the second season.
