This OVA isn't here to explain Kingdom Hearts to you, it's here to break the thing you thought you understood. The Master of Masters is gone before you can even ask what he wanted, leaving six people holding pieces of a plan none of them fully grasps. You watch them try to lead their Unions toward a war they can't prevent, each one certain they know the real reason they were chosen.

In a distant era known as the age of fairy tales, seven Keyblade wielders living in Daybreak Town guard the light of the world: the Master of Masters and his six apprentices. A ruinous conflict has been foretold, and the end of the world draws near. Hoping to mend it, the Master of Masters assigns each disciple a distinct role and tells them to gather other Keyblade wielders into Unions. Then, not long after, he vanishes. The OVA brings action, fantasy and mystery to this early chapter of the Kingdom Hearts world.
