The OVA exists entirely to give Kasumi the spotlight season 2 denied her, and it knows exactly what it's doing. Isla gets her first real moment inside the Love Live world instead of watching from the edges, which reframes what the group actually means. For Nijigasaki devotees, this is continuation that respects the weight of the story you've already invested in.

NEXT SKY is a single-episode OVA in the Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club franchise, released in summer 2023. The earlier series centered on second-year Yuu Takasaki, who fell for school idols and joined the School Idol Club with her friend Ayumu Uehara. There the members were sometimes friends and sometimes rivals, each adding their own ideas and drive to the group. This entry is a music and slice-of-life story set in that world.
