You grow up inside anime fandom because your parents won't let you leave it. Now you're desperately trying to convince everyone you're normal while your mom is out there shipping real people and your dad won't stop quoting his favorite shows. The person you've been avoiding this whole time just casually revealed he's been in the same hole the whole time, and suddenly running from your origins feels a lot stupider than it did yesterday.

Tong Qi grew up soaked in anime and otaku culture, which her parents pushed on her from early childhood. Even so, she does everything she can to keep her distance from anything otaku. At school she looks up to her deskmate Yang Wei, a bright, cheerful boy firmly rooted in the real world, and treats him as her idol. Then one day she hears an otaku term come out of his mouth. The result is a comedic slice-of-life ONA about a pair of otaku parents, a daughter with a sharp tongue for complaints, and the naive boy beside her.
