Hiroshima, 1945. The second and third-year students of a girls' school are sent off to labor in war factories, leaving 220 first-year girls behind. As the only teenagers left in a town that has almost emptied out, they try to make something good of their unusual situation despite the hardships of wartime, until an American bomber changes everything.
