Nobody's making a second season of this. The specials are where the show actually lives, strung across the home video release like you're collecting pieces of something that only makes sense if you care enough to hunt them down. Cat god hanging around a shrine, fixing small problems nobody else notices, speaking in that particular voice that lands different when you're alone at 2 AM. It costs nothing but attention, and that's exactly what it wants from you.
A cat deity lounges in a dilapidated shrine, mostly concerned with napping and eating, when a human girl moves in as the shrine's caretaker. Their daily lives become a steady stream of absurd supernatural encounters and low-key chaos. A mysterious fortune teller might show up. A minor god could drop by unannounced. The cat remains largely unbothered by all of it, more interested in whether snacks will appear than in whatever cosmic nonsense is happening around her. These bite-sized episodes work best when you're in the mood for something light and ridiculous. The humor lands on the absurdist side, playing off the contrast between the mundane shrine setting and the parade of weird visitors. Characters feel loose and comfortable with each other, which means conversations meander in unexpectedly funny directions. There's no overarching plot demanding your attention, just a cat deity and her perpetually exasperated human roommate dealing with whatever the supernatural world throws at them next. Perfect for when you want comedy that doesn't ask much of you but still delivers genuine laughs.
