In a future shaken by frequent large-scale natural disasters, cyborgs and autonomous robots are starting to reach the market in technologically advanced countries, while the major powers compete for technology and resources. The gap between rich and poor keeps widening, and the outlook for the poor is grim. Against this unsettled backdrop, the film tells how two cybernetically enhanced girls first meet.
